Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during a psychiatric evaluation?

Your first visit is a comprehensive, one-on-one conversation where we’ll discuss your symptoms, medical and mental health history, daily functioning, and treatment goals. It’s not a test. It’s a collaborative, supportive space where we get to know you and explore how we can help. From there, we’ll recommend a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication, therapy, or both.

For cases that are complex, we are not shy about consulting our collaborator Dr. Aditya "A.D." Vora, DO, who is Board Certified in Psychiatry.

Do I need to be in therapy to see a psychiatrist at NovaLuna Mental Health?

No, you can schedule a psychiatric evaluation even if you’re not currently in therapy. Many of our clients see us for ongoing mental-health treatment plans, while others work with outside therapists or primary-care providers. We can collaborate with your existing care team or provide integrated therapy and psychiatric support within our practice.

Can I receive psychiatric care through telehealth?

Yes, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth visits across Florida. Virtual psychiatry appointments provide the same level of personalized care as in-office visits—ideal for busy schedules, travel limitations, or clients who prefer privacy and flexibility.

What makes NovaLuna better than the other psychiatry practices?

Good question! Our 5-star reviews on Google and Tebra will tell you that you won't feel rushed and you'll feel heard. But most importantly, we've built a culture of caring for your wellbeing. From the moment you step through the door, we welcome you to our home and ensure you leave with more than just a prescription (and sometimes, you don't get a prescription).

How do I get started?

When you are ready, use our online scheduling tool (using our health management system Tebra) by clicking on the "SCHEDULE" button at the top of the page. Or, give our office a call at 561-303-0811. We look forward to supporting your next steps toward healing and growth.
